Device Disconnects Frequently
Symptoms
Section titled “Symptoms”- Device shows connected, then disconnects
- “Device offline” errors during workflow
- Workflow stops due to connection loss
- Intermittent “Device not found” messages
1. USB Cable Quality
Section titled “1. USB Cable Quality”The #1 cause of disconnections is cable quality:

2. USB Power Management
Section titled “2. USB Power Management”Windows may turn off USB to save power:
- Open Device Manager
- Expand Universal Serial Bus controllers
- Right-click each USB Root Hub
- Select Properties → Power Management
- Uncheck “Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power”
- Repeat for all USB Root Hubs
- Restart computer
3. Disable USB Selective Suspend
Section titled “3. Disable USB Selective Suspend”- Open Control Panel → Power Options
- Click Change plan settings for your active plan
- Click Change advanced power settings
- Expand USB settings → USB selective suspend setting
- Set to Disabled
- Click OK
4. Phone Settings
Section titled “4. Phone Settings”On your Android device:
- Settings → Developer options
- Enable Stay awake (screen stays on while charging)
- Disable any battery optimization for USB connections
5. Avoid USB Hubs
Section titled “5. Avoid USB Hubs”- Connect directly to computer’s USB port
- If you must use a hub, use a powered USB 3.0 hub
6. Check for Interference
Section titled “6. Check for Interference”- Move phone away from other electronics
- Ensure cable isn’t bent or stressed
- Keep phone stationary during automation
